An infectious beat an irresistible hook
the siren call of a soaring harmony
only way to go if the song takes you
some just keep you humming along.

I’ve forgotten most of the lyrics anyway
and the minor chords hold sway today
it’s plaintive not blue
if the song makes you sad it’s on you.
