jazz sundown

Posted: December 6, 2014 in Uncategorized

outside the storm beats down on my roof

the city wails frantically by my window

inside i am curled up with sarah vaughn body and soul

the sounds from the radio a sonic embrace

beyond my door a full life beckons

rich with the promise of love and laughter and happiness

it is a mirage shimmering upon slick city streets a concrete fantasy

reproof positive of myriad personal failings

the gentle rain like mild criticism washes over me easily

none of it really matters it’s just another jazz sundown
