Living it up in the material world
the Buddha said to be here now
and so here we are
too distracted to hear the rest of the story.
Busy being what we were led to become
exhausted trying to catch up
trying to catch happiness
keeping up with keeping the faith.
We believe in one truth or another
it ain’t easy being free calls for something
we must summon some essence from ourselves
what rises equips us to detect patterns.
We see a maze spun of platinum webbing
attractive and confining
just comfortable enough to call home
here we can fashion a life as conditions warrant.
platinum as in the color of our hair?

As in the intricate white webbing you see in the blackness when you close your eyes, a mirroring, I would suggest, of the brain’s infinitely intertwined nervous system. But that’s just me. Thanks for commenting.
