repeating unbroken habits along the way
the cool factor won’t cut it on familiar roads
false façades falling phantoms revealed
the sheer energy required to sustain this mode of travel
cracks the chassis the drivetrain warps gears grind
and still the familiar view in the rearview
reflect rethink if this ends someplace nice
then i guess the trip was worth it
somewhere back there i believed
courage crushed broken in a culvert
sad songs sung down the road
my way was the highway
I was going to say I love this line too Bob Burkhardt but you beat me to it!
…Would be great to photo illustrate it 🙂
