the purity of direct experience
touching eternity kissing the fire
a message framed in beauty and in books
the thoughts we express are purely our own
when we look to the truth beyond the facts
we alter the landscape to our liking.
The map is there:
a pattern of stars in the night sky
when we look up we know exactly how to proceed
no one stumbles on this path those who do fall with grace
they get back up on their own or we help them
some lie back down and die to nourish the soil
repurposed as phosphorescent fungi lighting the way
cold light in a dark forest.
